Panevėžys County Gabrielė Petkevičaitė-Bitė Public Library has been organizing scientific conferences since 1998. The topics of these conferences include:

• the development of books and libraries in Panevėžys region,
• publishing and spread of Panevėžys regional press,
• research in manuscript heritage,
• internationally acclaimed heritage of the written culture: theoretical and practical problems, their actualization, and possible solutions.

Articles based on conference papers are published in conference publications.
