In the beginning of his career M. K. Krefeld wrote scripts for movies and television. He has written over 15 scenarios for various Danish television shows until he made his debut in literature in 2007. Since then, he has been extremely successful, winning over the hearts of many book lovers. His novels have been recognised in the most prestigious literary awards in Denmark and Northern European countries.
The writings of the author, considered to be the king of crime novels in Denmark, are often described as psychological thrillers exceeding their own genre. The author’s novels examine acute social topics such as human trafficking, prostitution and the fate of deprived, vulnerable children.
M. K. Krefeld’s works have been translated to 18 languages. Four of his novels have been translated into Lithuanian. The most recent one, a thriller “The Deep” (original title “Dybet”) is a story of betrayal for a truly sharp mind.
