The annual project “Literary and Film Days at the Library XI” has started and this year the organisers offer a variety of film screenings.
About the project
“Literary and Film Days at the Library XI” is an ongoing project organised by Panevėžys County Gabrielė Petkevičaitė-Bitė Public Library. The project aims to promote the works of the artists from Panevėžys region who are awarded Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Arts.
Plans for 2020
Screenings of artistic, documentary films, and discussions about Lithuanian National Prize winners are planned to take place at Panevėžys County G. Petkevičaitė-Bitė Public Library. They are planned to be held every Thursday in the summertime of 2020. The library also invites the public to solve an interactive crossword on the library’s website and take part in the contests announced on the library’s Facebook page. The organisers are positive that these events and initiatives will continue to promote the works of outstanding Lithuanian artists. It is hoped that the events will help the residents of Panevėžys region to familiarise themselves with the National Prize winners.
In the autumn of 2020, many creative evenings are planned to be held at 12 public libraries of Panevėžys region. The pandemic has modified event management plans, but the libraries remain focused and determined. If unfortunate obstacles occur, the library specialists are ready to move some of the events into the virtual space.
