„Three years ago I experienced a few very difficult situations. For some reason I decided to seek solace on the Hill of Angels, in a wooden angel sculpture park near Trakai. That time not my eye, but rather my hert was caught by the realisation that the closest thing to my state and expectations was „Našlaitėlių globos Angelas“ (Orphans guardian Angel) carved by Algimantas Sakalauskas.
I would often find myself next to this Angel. I started photographing it. During winters and summers, any time of the day, whenever I would feel the need to be near the exceptional Angel – a Guardian. He had heard many times the prayer his mother had tought him dedicated to the Guardian Angel. Hundreds of pictures were captured“- says V. Kasperavičius.
The result of two hard years of labour – a few thousand photographs. For the photo story about the Guardian Angel I selected only several shoots. Namely these photos will be exhibited in Panevezys county Gabriele Petkevicaie-Bite public library conference room.
„I hope that the unusual nature of this exhibition and „lyrical hero“- Angel‘s sculpture will intrigue the local community and library‘s visitors. They will be able to view several photos linked by the title „Angele sarge…“ (Guardian Angel…).
Vladas Kasperavičius – journalist, beekeeper, gardener, mariner and mushroom picker.
Exhibition is open until October 31st.
