Book issuing procedure
Due to easing some restrictions of the quarantine, Panevėžys County Gabrielė Petkevičaitė-Bitė Public Library starts issuing books from the 27th of April. Books are issued only after pre-ordering, there is no need to arrange a pick-up time, but you must arrive within 3 days of making your order.
How to order books
Books (maximum 10 units) can be ordered: from the Central Library Palace via e-catalogue, by phone +370 45 465 497 or by e-mail abonementas@pavb.lt. Books must be picked up within 3 days.
From the Children’s Literature Department books can be ordered by phone +370 45 435 677 or e-mail vaikai@pavb.lt.
Book issuing
Ordered books will be issued:
In the Central Palace (Respublikos g. 14) on working days from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
In the Children’s Literature Department (Aukštaičių g. 4) on working days from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Book reservation in library e-catalogue is valid for three days, later the books are returned to the fund.
Books are issued at temporary issue points in the library lobby at the main entrance. 1-2 people are admitted to the library at a time.
Readers are served at safe distances (2 m, 10 sq.m. area per visitor). We kindly ask readers to cooperate and follow the instructions: wait patiently in the formed queues or at the marked lines, follow the requests of the library staff, wear protective masks, use the hand sanitiser and disposable gloves at the entrance.
Visitors who refuse to follow the established safety rules will not be served.
Return of books
Books can be returned without queuing, using the book return box (Respublikos g. 14); books returned at Children’s Literature Department (Aukštaičių g. 4), are placed on a table (shelf) in a designated place.
Returned books, as before, are stored for 4 days in a special quarantine room and only after that are issued to readers.
Other services
Other library services (reading rooms, trainings, educational activities, events) will continue to be provided until the next easing of quarantine. The information regarding the Library services will be updated.

We remind you that it is not recommended to visit the library for persons who are considered a risk group (persons over 60 years old and / or suffering from chronic diseases listed in the list of Serious Chronic Diseases for which a person is issued a certificate of incapacity for work during an emergency or quarantine). Order No. V-483 of 23rd of March 2020 „Dėl Sunkių lėtinių ligų, dėl kurių ekstremaliosios situacijos ar karantino laikotarpiu asmeniui išduodamas nedarbingumo pažymėjimas, sąrašo patvirtinimo“ (eng. “On Approval of the List of Serious Chronic Diseases for Which a Person Is Issued a Certificate of Incapacity for Work During an Emergency or Quarantine Period”) and also for persons experiencing any symptoms of respiratory infection (fever, runny nose, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, sneezing, tearing, etc.).
